In this issue, we highlight some of the ways NOPSEMA is engaging with industry and other stakeholders to strengthen safety and environmental outcomes.
As we head into 2026, NOPSEMA continues its commitment to our National Priorities, five key areas that require a more targeted regulatory approach, ensuring resources are used effectively and industry performance continues to improve.
We look at NOPSEMA's recently updated Diving Guidelines, which bring a sharper lens to Diving Safety Management Systems (DSMS) and Diving Project Plans (DPPs); introduce our updated Health and Safety Representative Handbook, a must for any HSR; and explain our new Information Paper on the application of oil spill modelling in Environment Plans (EPs) and Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEPs).
On a more personal note, Graham Blair, our Deputy CEO of Regulatory Operations, reflects on two years with NOPSEMA, and we take a deep dive into the complex subject of how to regulate psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
This edition also features an update on our flagship digital transformation project, CORE (Central Operations for Regulatory Excellence), and an overview of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator's recent attendance at the Asia Pacific (APAC) Wind Energy Summit.
