NOPSEMA and OIR stakeholder survey

The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) and the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR) are planning to undertake a stakeholder survey to gather insights about the regulator’s effectiveness, communication, transparency, responsiveness and community impact.

The focus of the survey is the performance of NOPSEMA and the OIR in undertaking their roles as regulators in accordance with the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (OPGGS Act) and Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act 2021 respectively. The survey does not assess or seek feedback on the legislation, the offshore energy regime, or the regulated community themselves.

We have engaged an independent consultant, MCM Strategic Communications, to lead the stakeholder survey. The survey will involve a series of short interviews with selected number of representative stakeholders and an online survey available to a wider group of stakeholders. Our external stakeholders will have received a notification from NOPSEMA and the OIR inviting their participation and the steps for registration.

If you have any queries about the stakeholder survey please contact us at communications@nopsema.gov.au
