Have your say: NOPSEMA policy on the requirement to remove equipment and property

News announcement - Published 2 June, 2020

Under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (OPPGS Act), offshore petroleum companies are required to remove all equipment or property when it will no longer be used in offshore operations.

In April 2020, NOPSEMA released a draft policy for comment to clarify how it will advise, promote, monitor, and enforce compliance with this requirement.

Interested stakeholders are reminded and encouraged to review the policy and provide comment by no later than Tuesday, 9 June 2020.
